| Page 12: First panel goes across top of page. We see the heroes of the S.T.A.R.S. superteam, charging at the camera, with a noticeable gap in their ranks where Captain Seemore would have been. From left to right: AGENT SLASHLEY is a master of anything with an edge. She wears military garb with double bandoliers stocked with throwing knives and shurikens. She's carrying a katana sword in her right hand and a tanto backhanded in her left; a long braid with speartip tied into the end flows from the back of her head. Next to her is AGENT PIERCE, who has the ability to send focused psychic blasts at line-of-sight targets; a psychic "sniper". He also has limited telepathy. He's an average looking soldier, except that he constantly wears a pair of binoculars around his neck. We see him with a psychic "aura" around his head. Next to him is a gap where Captain Seemore would be. Next to the gap is AGENT FLYER, who can alter the effects of gravity on herself and things she touches weighing up to 1 ton. We see her flying forward toward the camera. She wears a flight suit with pilot's headgear. Next to her is AGENT JACKRABBIT, who has superhuman quickness, strength and agility, as well as superior sight, hearing and smell; he has a feral quality about him. All he wears is spandex cycling shorts. He's furry. A wererabbit? Big ears, buck teeth. NO cotton tail though! : ) We see him in mid-leap, supporting himself on his hands, about to leap again. All of these heroes look as mad as Hell is hot. Emma narrates through this panel: THESE ARE THE S.T.A.R.S. IT STANDS FOR SOMETHING, I THINK. Emma narrates: AGENT SLASHLEY. SHE LIVES ON THE EDGE. Emma narrates: AGENT PIERCE. HE'S A PSYCHIC SNIPER. Emma narrates: CAPTAIN SEEMORE WOULD BE HERE. Emma narrates: AGENT FLYER. SHE MAKES EVERYTHING LIGHTER. Emma narrates: AGENT JACKRABBIT. HE'S AN ANIMAL. HEART OF A LION, THOUGH. Next panels show a montage of how the N.E.O. ambushes the S.T.A.R.S. team. Emma narrates over these panels: CAPTAIN SEEMORE WAS THEIR EYES IN THE FIELD. WITHOUT HIM, THEY NEVER SAW US COMING. Assorted action scenes in any order: -Agent Slashley slashing at Spreadfire and 5' O'Fury. Spreadfire stretches around her attack, 5' O'Fury binds her wrist with her whip, and Spreadfire touches her opposite shoulder, starting a fire on her. -Agent Jackrabbit punching water projectiles from Fragma, kicking Red Giant, then getting hammered by Equilibrium's tongue-click shockwawes. -Agent Flyer swinging Skullptor's sculpted behemoth into another sculpted behemoth, then getting rapid-punched by Fastbreak. (Last panel across bottom) -Agent Pierce trying to snipe at Termína's mind, which won't work on her. They dialogue: AGENT PIERCE: YOU'RE NOT HUMAN, ARE YOU? TERMÍNA: ASTUTE OBSERVATION, AGENT PIERCE. WHAT MORE DO YOU INTUIT? Meanwhile, Agent Pierce is telepathically calling out to Captain Seemore, still bound, blindfolded and gagged in the bunker. AGENT PIERCE (in telepathy thought cloud): WHERE YOU AT, BOSS? CAPTAIN SEEMORE (in telepathy thought cloud): NOT SURE, PIERCE. FOLLOW MY THOUGHTS.
